New Publication: Nature-based Placemaking in High-Density Cities
In December 2022, Ecostack Innovations published a report with title "Nature-Based Placemaking in High-Density Cities". Through this document, we are sharing some of the learning experiences from the implementation of nature-based placemaking in high-density cities based on our work in the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Community New European Bauhaus project ReCreate.
The publication can be accessed from the space below and is available as an Open Access document.
The recommendations document includes contributions from Dawra Madwarna, the University of Malta, and the Senglea Local Council.
This learning outcomes document defines nature-based placemaking, provides an overview of the benefits of effective stakeholder engagement, and evaluates the role of citizen science activities in reconnecting communities with nature while sharing practical advice based on the outcomes of the ReCreate project.
These efforts are part of a wider range of initiatives that Ecostack Innovations is carrying out to build interdisciplinary communities that foster placemaking and nature-based solutions and which, as we show here, if well integrated can lead to improved urban spaces that provide tangible benefits to the communities, thereby shaping a new era of nature-based placemaking.
