Ecostack Innovations hosts the MAMBO Horizon Europe project Annual General Meeting

Valletta, Malta - From the 18th to the 22nd of September 2023, Ecostack Innovations hosted the Horizon Europe MAMBO project annual meeting in Malta, where the project partners met to discuss the progress being made with each of the Work Packages and preliminary results.  On the last day of the workshop, a field trip was held in a shared effort to explore new technological approaches to biodiversity monitoring in Europe.

For three days the strategies adopted to accomplish the MAMBO's actions were presented to the group, ranging from social aspects such as the communication and the stakeholder engagement strategies to the technical aspects of the monitoring activities results in the pilot areas, leaving the participants the possibility to share the goals reached, learnt lessons and new possible approaches.

Two demonstrative workshops showcased the novel MAMBO field equipment in action to assess the local flora and fauna in habitats around Marsaskala, involving experts from interdisciplinary backgrounds.

Software applications and capabilities were tested in two highly biodiverse locations, where the NGO Nature Trust is undertaking interventions to restore this rare example of a Maltese saline wetland ecosystem.
