The recently finalised ecosystem service assessment for Malta’s water catchments, carried out as part of the LIFE 16 IPE MT 008 Project, has been placed online in a dedicated geoportal by Parks Malta. Ecostack Innovations has developed the methodology to identify, quantify and assign economic values to key services provided by different water catchment. This methodology has led to the categorisation of valley catchments in Malta and Gozo, making it possible to determine the relative importance of different catchments and sub catchments in delivering key ecosystem services within the Maltese Islands.
